In the world of 1912, no one had ever seen a ship as large, fast, and luxurios, as the Titanic. More than ten stories high and 882 feet long, the ship was colossal, and used 600 tons of coal daily to maintain a 22 knot speed. 159 furnaces and 200 workers were required.
